The first meeting for Transition Town Maryborough was held on the 16 February 2011. Maggie John from TTHB and also Dean Hazelwood from SustainaBundy, both of whom are enthusiastic volunteers and pioneers of the Transition Town movement were in attendance and offered some wonderful guidance and advice.

We were also lucky to have a broad range of people at the meeting whose interests ranged from focusing on local businesses and producers, encouraging large and small sustainable industries, creating productive garden spaces in common areas, working with schools to increase student’s awareness of recycling, sustainability and food production, and a community garden.

Currently we are looking to recruit more volunteers and encourage community involvement in order to create a brighter, sustainable economical and environmental future for Maryborough. If you are interested in learning more, please feel free to email us at tt.maryborough@gmail.com

The next meeting will be held on Monday the 28th February at 6pm at ‘The Hive’ situated on Lennox St behind the NAB office, just up from the Fire Station.
