We are always looking for new volunteers, particularly in the following areas:

Communications

There are many groups already addressing environmental issues in the Fraser Coast area. We need a volunteer to help promote this work, to collect news on activities and events and to liaise with the group (or groups depending on how much time you wanted to volunteer) and present it in a way that our web designer can use with minimal formatting time so that we can post the information on our site.

Fundraising

Suggestions are open here, but a couple of ideas that we came up with were a movie night and a garage sale.

For a movie night we have access to a medium size room (seats about 50) and the necessary equipment. We just need some one to organise a film, make up tickets and mobilise the team to promote and sell tickets.

For a garage sale we would like some one to volunteer their garage and coordinate team members who usually have a number of items to donate and will help out on the day. Last garage sale we almost made as much money on the BBQ and food as we did on the actual items.

Raffle prizes and a raffle.

Marketing of local ‘good guys’

Helping to promote locals that are doing the right thing. Collating information and short stories on local businesses to be posted on our site. This will help with confidence building as people will see that there is actually quite a lot being done to address sustainability issues.

Helping out at events

If you have no time to organise but are willing to man a stall, sell raffle tickets or hand out information for Transition Fraser Coast for a few hours at an event, please let us know.
