Transition Town Hervey Bay – Social Meetings
Transition Town Hervey Bay (TTHB) is working constructively toward viable alternatives to fossil fuel and encouraging organisations and business in the region to start the ‘transition’ to help the Fraser Coast  move to a clean new future. If you would like to become involved contact Maggie at tt_hb@hotmail.com or come to the next meeting.

Welcome to the homepage for Transition Towns Fraser Coast – home to Transition Town Hervey Bay, the driving force behind a sustainable Fraser Coast Region!

Feel free to browse our site, there is information galore on:

  • What Transition Towns are about;
  • What an Energy Descent Action Plan is;
  • How Transition Town Hervey Bay is involved with the Low Carbon Diet program;
  • What events are on the go in Fraser Coast that spread the word on Sustainability and transition the region towards a healthy, low-carbon future; and
  • How you can get involved to bring other Fraser Coast towns into the fold (come on Maryborough, Tiaro, Burrum Heads, Toogoom, Howard and all – join in and prepare to Transition!).

TTHB has achieved great things in a short period of time. Thankfully there is a growing awareness of the impact that the human species is having on our planet earth. Rather than shake their heads and expect someone else to ‘fix things’ a dedicated group of community minded residents have risen to the challenge and decided to help Hervey Bay get ready for the emerging threat of a reduced oil supply.

TTHB is also working hard to ensure that our community develops a sustainable economy as this, I believe, is the key to dealing with an uncertain future. I commend TTHB and trust that everyone will benefit from the solutions being investigated by a dedicated and hard working group of Fraser Coast residents.
